Medium Dark Roast. For over a century the Dominguez family has been growing coffee in their family Estate nestled in the Andes Mountains of Western Venezuela. Being just ten degrees off the equator and at an altitude of 4500 feet, our family plantation is blessed with a very even climate and rich soil ideal for growing this 100% Arabica coffee. The original bourbon coffee stock was brought directly from Africa in 1783.
The Dominquez Estate is very proud to bring you this full-bodied and sweet coffee for your enjoyment.
In 2008, Dilettante entered into a unique business relationship to become an exclusive importer of Venezuelan coffee beans. Venezuelan coffee has a gourmet cachet in Europe that dates back to pre-WWII days when the Germans had a relationship with Venezuela and were importing the beans for their own use. Due to the advent of the oil industry however, coffee took a back seat economically and today Venezuelans consume most of their own coffee supply and therefore it cannot be readily found internationally. It is therefore understandable why Dilettante was thrilled to secure such an advantageous relationship. The family plantation with which Dilettante has partnered provides a unique bean that when roasted creates a balanced flavor profile usually only found in blends.
