Chocolate Pumpkins, Pet Costume, and Parties

  • 2 min read

How will you be celebrating Halloween this year?

  • Consuming lots of candy
  • Handing out candy
  • Wearing a costume
  • Dressing your pet in a costume
  • Decorating your home
  • Attending a party
  • All of the above

If you’re planning to hand out candy for Halloween - choose chocolate.

But don’t take our word for it, the National Confectioners Association revealed that, "Chocolate in all its varieties is the star of Halloween, with 68 percent of people saying it is their favorite Halloween treat".

FESTIVE HALLOWEEN TREATS

Stock up on our festive milk chocolate Halloween pumpkins. Each chocolate piece is individually wrapped for freshness and has a spooky jack-o-lantern face. They are perfect for trick-or-treaters or as party favors.

Not into milk chocolate? You’re in luck. We brought back our popular Halloween Assorted TruffleCremes. These bulk jars contain both Blood Orange and Dark Ephemere TruffleCremes. Their orange and black foiled wrappers add a wonderful pop-of-color to any Halloween themed party.

FUN HALLOWEEN FACTS

The National Retail Federation reported that the “total spending for Halloween is expected to reach $9 billion” in 2018. But that’s not all going to chocolate, though that sounds like a delicious idea to us. In fact, back in 2009 the Nielsen Company stated that somewhere close to 90 million pounds of chocolate were purchased for Halloween. If I had to hazard a guess I’d say that quantity has risen in the last several years.

18% of pet owners who celebrate Halloween will dress up their pets, according to the NRF. The most popular costumes this year for dogs and cats are pumpkins, hot dogs and bumble bees. What this data doesn’t answer is the question, what is the fascination with dressing up animals as other kinds of animals? And yes, I checked, the bumble bees they are referring to are the flying insect variety and not the robot character from the Transformer movies. Which I think we can all agree would be infinitely cooler.

Whether you dress up as a pirate, a princess or zombie, everyone at Dilettante Chocolates wishes you a very sweet, very spooktacular Halloween!
