Celebrating 45 Years of Dilettante Chocolates

Forty-five years ago, today, Dilettante Chocolates began its journey. Inspired by heirloom family recipes and a love for all things confectionary, Dilettante has been able to share its craft with people from around the world.

From everyone at Dilettante Chocolates, we would sincerely like to thank all of the people who have supported us throughout the years. Whether you enjoy visiting a mocha café or keep in touch by ordering a box of chocolates from time to time, you allow us to continue pursuing our passion. Since opening in 1976, we have worked hard to give you an experience worth remembering.

While much has changed in the forty-five years since Dilettante’s inception, other aspects remained the same. The traditional method of dipping chocolates by hand is performed today to ensure each truffle, caramel, or toffee is made with care and attention.

The flavors of Dilettante also endured over the years. The creation of Dilettante’s signature Ephemere flavor began the same year it opened. This flavor remains a staple of the chocolate company and is often alongside other classic flavors such as raspberry and praline.

As more and more people gifted and shared Dilettante, the name became associated with a feeling. Now, Dilettante Chocolates has a taste and aroma associated with it. A velvety, rich, and indulgent feeling in each chocolate experience.

To celebrate 45 years of chocolate-craftmanship, Dilettante has compiled all of its classic chocolates in one place. Shop Dilettante Classics and explore a diverse and rich chocolate history. From chocolate-covered fruit, first made in 1991, to TruffleCremes, introduced in 2006, Dilettante presents a wide array of tastes.
